How does it work?
Collect traces
– AWS collects all the requested data, from every primary application services, that it passes by.

Record traces – X-Ray merges the data collected, from every service into unique parts called Traces.

View Service Map – Service map is used, to view the trace data that has discontinuities, HTTP statuses, and metadata for every service.

Analyze issues – Drills into the service, that has any abnormal behavior, to find the main cause.

Features of AWS X-RAY:
Security: As AWS X-Ray is combined with AWS Identity, and Access Management, we can control the resources and users, who can have access confirmation and how they can have access.

Console and Programmatic approach: The X-Ray API makes you technically use the service so that we can get the trace data, or take the data into our own tools, and custom analytics dashboards.

Data annotation and Separating: AWS X-Ray makes you add observations, to data released from particular components or services in our application. We can use this, to add business purpose metadata, which helps us to identify the issues in a better way.

We can also see and separate the data for traces, by properties like average latencies, annotation value, HTTP response status, timestamp, database table used, etc.

Server and Client-side latency Identification: AWS X-Ray makes us to visibly identify the node, and edge latency distribution directly from the service map.

We can spot graph formats and trends, outliers and separated by fixed keys and custom observations, for a better understanding of the problems, that affect our application and end customers.

Service map: AWS X-Ray designs a service map, that is used by our application with trace data, which can be used to drill into particular services or problems.

By this, we can see the connections between services in our application and collected data for every service, along with average latency and failure rates.

End-to-end tracing: An overall and cross-service view of requests, that are made to our application is given by AWS X-Ray.

Simple Setup: It’s easy, to begin with, X-ray. We have to just combine the X-Ray SDK, with our application and set the X-Ray agent.

Given the amount of data this bus booking platform receives every minute, they had the challenge of creating credible user generated reviews for the users. “Amazon SageMaker has been revolutionary in solving the various continuous iterations we have in products,” said, Phaneesh Gururaj, Vice President – B2C Engineering, Redbus.

As Arun Gupta, Principal Technologist, AWS, said, “We want AWS to be the best platform to run your ML services.”

Any gathering is not complete unless there is the best of minds coming together to discuss, debate and expound their ideas. The panel discussion was on the topic: Building around recommendation engines, fraud and forecasting use-cases.
Movin Jain, vice president, products, Meesho, a social commerce startup was clear about their goal, “How do we reach the next 500 million users.” To achieve this target, it is quite clear that the technology platform of AWS would be the gateway.

At the same time, it is also equally important that technologies like AI and Machine Learning are more widely accepted within in an organisation. As Vijay Chidambaram, Vice President, Cloud Engineering, Manthan Systems said, “One needs to understand what the end consumer needs and have an internal structure which will facilitate the use of ML and AI.”
Technologies like ML and AI are critical for fintech startup like Razorpay especially while dealing with issues like fraud. Raju Shetty, head of Engineering, Razorpay felt that the need of the hour to have the technology to interpret the huge amount of data within a few minutes so as to understand the pattern.
The panelists were of the opinion that the biggest challenge for all the startups was definitely in the area of talent.

In short, it was always the case of never giving up.

On the other hand, when it comes to investing in startups that are engaged with cutting edge technologies, Manish said, “There are no rules of investing in this area and one should take that leap of faith. AI is a means to solve a larger problem.”

Both felt that it is very important to build the culture within the organisation to attract the right kind of talent specially to deal with technologies like AI and ML.

In such events, there is always the eager participants who had multitude of questions around talent building, business development, gaining market share or just how to write a good code.

The march of AI and Machine Learning will continue and there is no force which will stop the advancement of these technologies. As Digbijoy said, “Our vision at AWS is to democratise the tools.”

Amazon EC2 provides developers with the tools to create fault-resilient applications and isolate them from common error scenarios.

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)
Amazon S3 has been designed with a minimum set of resources and has been created to facilitate web computing for developers. The Amazon S3 is an object storage service that differs from cloud storage in block and file. Each object is stored as a file with its metadata included and receives an identification number. Applications use this identification number to access an object. Unlike cloud storage of files and blocks, a developer can access an object through a REST API.

Amazon CloudFront
Amazon CloudFront is an email network server. Data, videos, applications and APIs secure to customers all over the world, AWS is a high transfer speed, all in a favorable environment or development.CloudFront is integrated as AWS: both are the physical and technical means of the AWS global infrastructure, as well as external AWS services. CloudFront works perfectly with the services included in the Shield for the mitigation of DDoS, Amazon S3, Elastic Load Balancing or Amazon EC2 as origins for its applications, and Lambda execution code.

Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS)

Amazon RDS (Relational Database Service) The Amazon RDS (Relational Database Service) is a fully managed SQL database cloud service that allows you to create and operate relational databases. Using the RDS, you can access your files and databases anywhere, in an economical and highly scalable way. The Amazon RDS has the following features

Scalable – the Amazon RDS allows you to scale the relational database using the AWS Management Console or the specific RDS API. We can increase or decrease your RDS requirements in minutes.
Host replacement – Sometimes, these situations occur when the Amazon RDS hardware fails.
Cheap – Using Amazon RDS, we pay only for the resources we consume. No initial or long-term commitment
Secure – Amazon RDS provides full control over the network to access its database and associated services
Automatic backups – Amazon RDS backs up everything in the database, including transaction records of up to five minutes, and also manages the automatic backup periods.
Software patch: automatically obtains all the latest patches for the database software. We can also specify when the software must be corrected using the engine version management engine.
Amazon SimpleDB

Amazon SimpleDB is a distributed database written in Erlang by Amazon.com. It is used as a Web service together with the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud and the Amazon S3 and is part of Amazon Web Services.

SimpleDB provides a URL endpoint to guarantee encrypted messages between an application and a domain. In combination with AWS Identity and Access Management, you can create permissions for groups and users for specific SimpleDB domains. Amazon SimpleDB works with other Amazon services to give developers the ability to store their data in Amazon Simple Queue Service and run their applications in the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud.

Amazon Simple Notification Service ( Amazon SNS)
AWS SNS runs within Amazon’s proven network infrastructure and data centers. The themes available in AWS will be accessible whenever the applications wish. To prevent messages from being lost, all messages revealed to Amazon SNS remain redundant across multiple servers and data centers.

Amazon SNS provides themes for high-performance messages, based on push and many for many. Using Amazon SNS themes, your publisher systems can distribute messages to a large number of subscriber endpoints for parallel processing, including Amazon SQS queues, AWS Lambda functions and HTTP / S webhooks. In addition, the SNS can be used to spread notifications for end users through push, SMS and email for mobile devices.

Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS)
The Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS) is a pay-per-use web service for storing messages in transit between computers. Developers use SQS to create distributed applications with decoupled components without having to deal with the overhead of creating and maintaining message queues.

SQS eliminates the complexity and overhead associated with the administration and operation of message-oriented middleware and allows developers to concentrate on differentiating work. Start with the SQS in minutes using the AWS console, the line interface or the SDK of your choice and three simple commands. The SQS offers two types of message queues. The standard queues offer maximum transfer speed, order of best effort and delivery at least once. The FIFO rows of SQS are designed to ensure that messages are processed exactly once, in the exact order that I have been.

Amazon Virtual Private Cloud
Amazon Virtual Private Cloud is a server of computation in the commercial network for users and private users, and for “not being in a logically isolated site of Amazon Web Services Cloud”. Corporate clients can access the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud for my private social network based on IPsec.

An Amazon Private Cloud (VPC) allows users to use AWS resources in a virtual network. Users can customize the virtual network environment in the environment, such as selecting or modifying the IP time interval, secondary networks, and configuring the network windows and access doors.
